Here is a picture that belongs to Keith Fitzpatrick of some of his model collection and cars that he built. These are mostly circle track models. We will be showing more models as Keith gets them built. Check out the next two pictures and I think you will agree that Keith builds some fine circle track models.
Here's the AMT 40 Ford modified. Keith has changed a few things to make this model look like the real thing. Keith's dad was a good friend of mine and raced the old coupes in the early days. You can see him and some of his cars on my vintage pictures page. I have known Keith since he was about nine years old and I can remember giving him some of my models, when I was a young man myself. I hope that some how I played a part in encouraging him to build models. We both enjoy building models even more today.
Here's one of his 55 Chevy stock car models. Too bad it's not the real thing because I would love to get one of these on the track for some vintage racing today. I can remember his dad helping me build my first 57 Chevy stock car, like it was yesterday.
The next two pictures were sent to me from San Jose CA. they are pictures of model race track built by Rich Rollins outside of his home.
I can see that Rich has the same taste in model building as I have. I only wish I could see each one of these old race cars up close. I hope Rich can send some individual pictures in the future but for now I think his race track diorama is really neat.
Rich said that he had to tear down the track as soon as he took these pictures, because he didn't have as much room as he needed to leave it where it was and I guess outside wouldn't be a place to leave your models. I know how he feels because I had to do the same with my miniature track, as I will talk more about under the next picture.
To the left is a picture of my miniature race track that I also had to remove because of space. It wasn't quite big enough, it being five by six feet. I plan to build my next one sometime in the future now that I have more space and it will be six feet wide and fourteen feet long. I only wish I had all of my friends models to use on it. So watch for this project some time in the future. It will be inside behind glass.
