This page is for viewers to watch as I build and restore two 1934 Ford five window coupes. One is Al Murie's original coupe that he raced in the early 60's and the other is my new vintage racer that I found, that someone had started to build. Will try to update pictures weekly.
My new car I am building Al Murie's original coupe I am restoring.
Here is another vintage race car I am building. It is a 1936 Chevy coupe. I plan to use Ford pickup frame and install 327 Chevy small block.

Well it's only been a little over a week and already my projects have changed some. I came across an original 1934 race car body so I traded the new body on the left for the old on the right. It needs a lot more work so I will concentrate more on my 1936 Chevy vintage racer since I sold my 1937 Ford. Will be working on both 1934 Ford coupes as time permits.
1936 Chevy Coupe project
First, I robbed my frame from a Ford pickup and then set the Chevy body on the frame so I could move the body inside to put it on the lift. I have made good progress on the frame and suspension so I will have more pictures next week.

This photo shows me trimming out the 36 Chevy body and will start to fit it on the chassis.
.This is the first trial fit of the 36 body on chassis. The body will be on and off several times before this project is finished.
Remember this car at the beginning, well the bare frame on the right is about all there is left. Since I traded this body for the original race car body, I will be starting this project from scratch. First the frame will have to be plated and welded to be strong enough. Will be adding pictures as work progresses.

This is the latest progress on the 36 Chevy coupe. The roll cage has been almost completed and the engine has been installed for the first time and like the body the engine will be in and out several times before this car is ready to race.

This is the Al Murie 34 Ford coupe, original race car project, haven't got much done, but here I'm removing the old roof panel along with some other parts. I have another flat head engine coming for this car as you can see this one is in pretty sad shape. Hope to get more done on this project soon.
